During this time of crisis, we are all called to come together in solidarity and find ways to assist each other in any means possible.
In collaboration with United Architects of the Philippines – Mt. Kanlaon Chapter, Philippine Institute of Interior Designers – Negros Chapter, Eagle Scouts Bacolod and Boy Scouts of the Philippines Bacolod Council, we have created a cost-efficient Sanitation Tent and Innovative Hand-washing Station to be placed at possible Checkpoints, Barangay Entrances and Barangay Health Centers.
The importance of disinfecting cannot be stressed enough.
And by providing a sanitization area for each Barangay, we can help stop the spread of the virus.
As we all know, the virus spreads through droplets and stays in surfaces at long periods of time.
It is best we keep the community informed and aware of the proper sanitization methods needed before entering their premises.
The first step prior to getting inside the tent is to use the hand-washing station and clean your hands up to your elbows with the provided soap.
Next, is to make sure that upon entering the tent, you are able to soak the soles of your shoes or slippers in the provided foot bath.
Research shows that the virus can stay at the soles of shoes for days, making this a necessity upon entering the tent.
After using the footbath, spray your bags and parcels with the provided disinfectant (water and part bleach).
Once within the tent, your temperature will be taken, IDs and community passes checked, and records jotted down.
Observe patience as you will be asked to take your place in the queue and observe strict social distancing.
By taking these extra precautions, we are allowing the frontliners of our barangays safety and efficiency as we battle this virus together.
During this time of Enhanced Community Quarantine, the group is asking for any donations or possible contributions to help aid in the fabrication of this project.
We encourage using the materials listed as these are every-day-used house goods and are promoting repurposing through simple innovations.
Due to the closure of most commercial establishment some materials are not available to fabricate the said Sanitation Tents and so the group decided to concentrate for the fabrication of Innovative Hand-washing Stand to be placed outside the Barangay Health Centers in Bacolod.
Thru the efforts of Hon. Lady Gles Gonzales, Punong Barangay of Brgy. Taculing and the same time President of Liga ng mga Punong Barangay, Bacolod City, we have completed the distribution of all 32 Barangay Health Centers in Bacolod City.
The Bayanihan Project has successfully produced a total of 68 units of Innovative Hand-washing Stand and some this was donated to Police Outposts and Barangay Halls which was materialized due to the generosity of the members of United Architects of the Philippines – Mt. Kanlaon Chapter, Philippine Institute of Interior Designers – Negros Chapter, Eagle Scouts Bacolod, Boy Scouts of the Philippines Bacolod Council and other private individuals. The group collected total donations of P44,600.00.
